Per Colorado CDL Compliance, as of today-July 20, 2015 there are some changes in both CDL Permit fees and CDL Restrictions.
The new CDL Permit Fees are as follows: CDL Permit cost will now be $16.80 no longer $14.00, and there will now be a Retest Fee of $11.15 for all Knowledge retests.
The CDL license fee will go down from $35.00 to $15.50.
A MVR will now cost $2.60.
As of today July 20, 2015 the following restrictions will apply to all CDL licenses as they apply
If the vehicle used for testing is NOT equipped with air brakes, the license must show an "L"- no air brake equipped CMV restriction.
If the vehicle used for testing is equipped with air over hydraulic brakes, the license must show a "Z"-no full air brake equipped CMV restriction.
If the vehicle used for testing is equipped with an automatic transmission, the license must show an "E"-no manual transmission equipped CMV restriction.
If the vehicle combination used for testing is NOT a truck-tractor semi-trailer combination, the license must show an "O"-no tractor trailer CMV restriction.
The major changes in CDL testing are the automatic transmission restriction and the no tractor trailer restriction.
