School Bus Driver

CDL Endorsement Course

School Bus Endorsement

The average School Bus driver has a salary within the range of $25,000 to $38,000. A school bus driver must have a Commercial Driver License (CDL) with an "S" endorsement. The "S" endorsement requires a written knowledge test and a CDL Skills test in a school bus. Typically, school districts will train and adminster the CDL Skills Test to their bus drivers. Very few of the truck driving schools and CDL Testing facilities administer the skills test for School Bus Drivers.

CDL College recommends people to directly contact a school district about employment opportunities. School bus drivers are always in demand. It's a safe be that the school district around your house is looking for new drivers. A school bus driver usually works a split shift; one shift in the morning and one in the afternoon. You always have the opportunity to pick up an extra shift to take students to extra curricular activities.
